We are Earthtone

Vibe is key at Earthtone Analog, We like everyone to be relaxed so that we can make the best version of whatever is brought to the table. We have a variety of house instruments to make that happen, including two acoustic pianos and a Hammond organ. If the modern, sterile studio of today is like the Death Star (all bad ass computers, digital perfection, and bells and whistles), Earthtone Analog is more like the Millenium Falcon-- with real-life component gear, tape machines, and chicken grease... While we don't have a "Studio Wookie", we DO have a "Studio Donkey" and a "Studio Horse" on our twenty acres.

Earl Guthrie and the box-wine Prophets

Earl Guthrie & The Box Wine Prophets

by Earthtone

The new self titled album boasts an all star line-up of musicians. Besides Earl Guthrie and Prophet members Steve Sturgill, Chet Surgener, and Kevin Gilbert, the album features members of the Kentucky based "23 String Band". Scott Moore on fiddle, Dave Howard on mandolin, and Curt Wilson on banjo. Also, the talents of Joshua Collins, from the Vessel (KY), are showcased on piano. The record also highlights the wonderful pedal steel playing of Louisville musician, Neil Hulsewede. And special appearances on horns by Ryan Stiles and Murf Adams, from the band "Fat Box". And finally, Louisville musician/recording artist, Alanna Fugate helped out with some fine backing vocals on two songs. The album was recorded at Electric Taterland Studios in Louisville, KY. It was mixed and mastered by David Barrick at Barrick Recording Studios in Glasgow, KY. Album artwork was done by the very talented Bridget Couch. Their live shows now include guitarist Stephen Couch, from the Betweeners. So make sure you catch these guys when they come to your town. You will not be disappointed.
